Below are the minimum qualifications as well as the documentary requirements for submission to the BuCor National Headquarters' Human Resource Division or any Human Resource Units of BuCor's six (6) Operating Prison and Penal Farms, namely:
  1. Correctional Institution for Women (Mandaluyong City)
  2. Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro)
  3. Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (Puerto Princesa, Palawan)
  4. Leyte Regional Prison (Abuyog, Leyte)
  5. Davao Prison and Penal Farm (Panabo City, Davao del Norte)
  6. San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (Zamboanga City)


General Qualifications for Appointment to Corrections Officer 1


No person shall be appointed as uniformed personnel of the BuCor unless he/she possesses the following minimum qualifications:
  • A Citizen of the Republic of the Philippines;
  • A Person of good moral character;
  • Must have passed the psychiatric/psychological, drug and physical test for the purpose of determining his/her physical and mental health;
  • Must possess a baccalaureate degree from a recognized learning institution;
  • Must possess the appropriate civil service eligibility;
  • Must not have been dishonorably discharged or dismissed for cause from previous employment;
  • Must not have been convicted by final judgement of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude;
  • Must be at least one meter and fifty-seven centimeters (1.57) m. in height for male, and one meter and fifty-two centimeters (1.52) m. for female: provided, that a waiver issued by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) for height  and age requirement/s is granted to applicants belonging to the cultural communities.
  • *Must not be less than twenty-one (21) nor more than forty (40) years of age
* The age limit as per R. A. 10575 or "The Bureau of Corrections Act of 2013" is forty (40) years old, however, those above thirty-six (36) years of age will have to sign a waiver agreeing that they may not be able to qualify for the full retirement benefits afforded to a uniformed officer of BuCor.

  • CSC Career Service Professional Eligibility
  • PD 907 (CSC College Honor Graduate Eligibility)
  • Penology Officer Eligibility
  • CSC Police Officer Eligibility (July 1998 onwards)
  • *BAR/Board Eligibility (RA1080)
 
*RA 1080 Eligibilities must require the completion of a Bachelor's Degree. If the RA 1080 eligibilitywas obtained before the completion of a Degree, the same shall be deemed inappropriate for the position.
 
Example: Applicant completed a 2-year course in Midwifery last 2020 and successfully passed the Midwifery Licensure Examination in 2021. In 2022, applicant subsequently graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Midwifery and applied with BuCor presenting the 2021 Eligibility as compliance for the Application Requirements.

Corrections Technical Officer Applicants: Long Brown Folder
Non-Uniformed Personnel Applicants: Long Yellow Folder

A. Letter of Intent (In legal bond paper)

B. Three (3) Duly Accomplished Personal Data Sheet (PDS) (CSC Form 212 Revised 2017) with attached Work Experience Sheet , Back to back, Original and Notarized

C. Three (3) Authenticated copies of Certificate of Eligibility with Official Receipt
(Certificate of Board Rating for PRC or Certificate of Eligibility for CSC / Penology Officer)
 
D. Two (2) Authenticated copies of Transcript of Records (TOR) and authenticated / certified by School Registrar

E. Two (2) Diploma (Authenticated / certified by School Registrar)
 
F. One (1) Original PSA Birth Certificate with Official Receipt
 
G. One (1) Original Child PSA Birth Certificate with Official Receipt (if applicable)
 
H. One (1) Original PSA Marriage Certificate with Official Receipt (if applicable)

I. One (1)  Original NBI Clearance
 
J. One (1) Original Local Police Clearance
 
K. One (1) Authenticated IPCR (Latet 2 Rating Period) for active / former government employee with plantilla item/s

L. One (1) Authenticated Service Record for active / former government employee with plantilla item/s

M. One (1) Authenticated Appointment for active / former government employee with plantilla

N. One (1) Certificate of Honorably discharge for former government employee with plantilla item/s
 
O. One (1) NCIP or NCMF Certificate of Confirmation (COC) for applicants who did not meet the height requirement

P. Two (2) Photocopies of: 
  • TIN ID / TIN verification form
  • PAG-IBIG ID / MDF
  • PHILHEALTH ID / MDR
 
 
2. Folder 2 (tabbed):

H. One (1) Photocopy of PSA Birth Certificate
 
I. One (1) Photocopy of Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
 
J. One (1) Diploma (Authenticated / Certified by School Registrar)

K. One (1) Certificate of Employment

L. One (1) Photocopy of passport (if any)

M. One (1) Original NOTARIZED waiver to undergo BI
 
N. One (1) Sketch of house / residence from landmarks

O. Two (2) Latest 2x2 ID Pictures




Reminders:

  • Corrections Officer I application folder must be tabbed as listed.
  • Application folder: White long folder and must be submitted personally.
  • ATTIRE: White round neck, blue maong pants, white rubber shoes, white socks, black garrison belt with silver buckle, surgical mask. Males must be in proper hair cut and Females must tie their hair in a bun.
  • Incomplete documents shall not be accepted.

Salary


Corrections Officer 1 will receive a  basic monthly salary of P29,668 upon oathtaking.





Written Qualifying Examinations


Pursuant to Section 34 RA 11131 or "The Philippine Criminology Profession Act of 2018", Registered Criminologist are exempted from taking the Written Qualifying Examinations (WQE) and will immediately be scheduled for the Neuro-Psychiatric Examinations.

Criminology graduates holding eligibilities such as the CSC Professional Eligibility as well as applicants from other disciplines will have to take the WQE as the initial screening step of the recruitment process.
