The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is now accepting applications for CHED Scholarship Program (CSP) for incoming freshmen or graduating highschool students (Academic Year 2020-2021).
UPDATE (May 21, 2020): No new merit scholarships this year.

The CHED under Republic Act No. 7722 has the mandate to provide financial assistance through scholarships to qualified and deserving students, preferably the Underprivileged and Homeless Citizens under RA No. 7279, Persons with Disability (PWDs) under RA No. 7277 as amended, Solo Parents and/or their Dependents under RA 8972, Senior Citizens under RA 9994, and Indigenous Peoples under RA 8371.

Financial Benefit Package per Academic Year
Qualification / Eligibility Requirements
A student-applicant must comply with the following criteria to qualify for the scholarship grant:
1. Filipino citizen;
2. Graduating high school / high school graduate with General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 90% or its equivalent computed as follows:
- If completed Grade 11 + 1st semester of grade 12 then grade is computed as ((Average GWA of Grade 11)) + GWA of grade 12)/3)*70%
- If completed Grade 12 then grade is computed as 12 GWA*70%
3. Combined annual gross income of parent/s, guardian which does not exceed Four Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php 400,000.00), an applicant must present a written certification or medical findings of illness of a family member, or school certifications of two or more dependents enrolled in college; and
4. Those student-applicants belonging to the special group of persons such as the Underprivileged and Homeless Citizens under Republic Act No. 7279, Persons with Disability (PWDs) under RA No. 7277 as amended, solo parents and/or their dependents under RA 8972, Senior Citizens under RA 9994 and Indigenous People under RA 8371 shall submit certifications and/or Identification Cards (IDs) issued by the appropriate offices or agencies.
NOTE: Students should enroll in any of the priority courses identified by CHED
Documentary Requirements
Student-applicants must secure the following documentary requirements:
1. CITIZENSHIP: Certified true copy of Birth Certificate
2. ACADEMIC:
- High school report card for incoming freshmen students eligible for college; and
- Duly certified true copy of grades for Grade 11 and 1st semester of Grade 12 for graduating high school students.
- Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) of parents or guardian;
- Certificate of Tax Exemption from the Bureau of the Internal Revenue (BIR);
- Certificate of Indigence either from Barangay or Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD);
- Case study report from DSWD; and
- Latest copy of contract or proof of income may be considered for children of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and seafarers.
Where and how to file the application
All submission should be addressed to CHEDROs based on point of origin through: Hand carry or walk-in application; Email; or Courier.
- Secure the CHED scholarship application form at any CHED Regional Offices (CHEDROs), or maybe downloaded from the CHED website through this link: https://ched.gov.ph/wp-content/uploads/CHED-Scholarship-Application-Form.pdf
- Fill out and submit the CHED scholarship application form together with the required supported documents directly to the CHEDROs where the schools that applicants graduated from are based.
- If the application is filed online, the form together with the supporting documents shall be electronically submitted to the CHEDRO concerned in PDF format, subject to further verification against the original documents if necessary.
- Application form together with supporting documents may also be submitted through courier.

Responsibilities of A Scholar
A scholar shall have the following responsibilities:
- Enroll in a recognized priority programs of Private Higher Educational Institutions (PHEIs) or SUCs/LUCs with Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC). Check the Priority Courses in CHED Scholarship Program 2020
- Maintain a GWA of at least 85% or its equivalent for full scholars and 80% or its equivalent for half scholars.
- Carry a regular load per semester/term as determined by HEIs.
- Complete the degree program within the time frame required in the curriculum, in case of approved deferment.
- Secure written approval of the concerned CHEDRO in case of transfer to another HEI, in case of shift to other recognized or authorized priority programs.

Plano ko pong kunin ay Civil Engineering sa PUP pero kapag ininput siya sa online application ng CHED ang lumalabas po ay “Course selected is not yet recognized by the commission” and “Please enrolled at the accredited institutions and recognized program” pero nakalagay naman po sa lists na kasama sa priority courses nila yun.

Nakakailang ulit na po ko sa pag-apply ayaw pa din masubmit. ReplyDeleteHi, nag apply po ako sa CHED at na approved ako kaso sa name nalagyan ko ng extra name na dapat wala tapos mali yung course na na click ko, hindi ko din na save yung pdf file nag la lag po kase PC ko during filing the application form. Saan ko po pede makita yun?
