General qualifications for appointment to Jail Officer 1
Applicants must strictly meet the following qualification requirements:
- A Citizen of the Republic of the Philippines;
- A person of good moral character;
- Must have passed the neuro-psychiatric evaluation, medical examination and drug test for the purpose of determining his/her physical and mental health;
- Must possess a baccalaureate degree from a recognized institution of learning;
- Must possess appropriate eligibility (Second Level eligibilities: CSE Professional, RA 1080, and Penology Officer Examination etc );
- Must not have been dishonorably discharged of dismissal for cause from previous employment;
- Must not have been convicted by final judgement of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude;
- Must not be less than twenty-one (21) nor more than thirty (30) years of age. A waiver for age requirement shall be automatically granted to applicants belonging to the Cultural Communities;
- Must be atleast one meter and fifty-seven centimeters (1.57 m) in height for Male and one meter and fifty-two centimeters (1.52 m) in height for Female: A waiver for height requirement shall be automatically granted to applicants belonging to the Cultural Communities;
- Must weigh not more or less than five kilograms (5kgs) from the standard weight corresponding to his/her height, age, and sex;

Applicants must prepare two (2) sets of documents and must be in a folder with tabbings.
A. Duly accoumplished Personal Data Sheet (PDS) CS Form 212, Revised 2017
B. Original copy of Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate issued by PSA
C. Authenticated copy of:
- CAV from CHED
- Transcript of Records (TOR)
- Diploma
D. Authenticated copy of:
- Certificate of Eligibility
- Certificate of Good Standing (PRC)
- Photocopy of PRC ID
E. Authenticated / Original Copy of Valid Clearances:
- Barangay
- Police
- NBI
- MTC
- RTC
- Prosecutor's Office
F. PhilHealth (Member's Data Record Form)
G. PAG-IBIG (Member's Data Form)
H. Photocopy of TIN ID
I. Certificate of Confirmation from NCIP (if needed)
Requirements for Background Investigation
A. Two (2) Duly accoumplished Personal Data Sheet (PDS) CS Form 212, Revised 2017

C. Two (2) House sketch of Permanent and Residential Address with landmarks and screenshots from Google Map
D. Photocopy of Valid Clearances:
- Barangay
- Police
- NBI
- MTC
- RTC
- Prosecutor's Office
E. Certificate of Confirmation from NCIP (if needed)
F. 4R Body Picture (whole body barefoot)

Salary
Jail Officer 1 will receive a basic monthly salary of P29,668 upon oathtaking. A gross monthly salary of P37,448 will be received including the monthly salary and allowances.

Entry Level Examination
Criminologist applicants are exempted to take the EnLEx. (Pursuant to Section 34 and 35, Article V of RA 11131 re: Privileges of Registered Criminologists.)
