DETAILS: AHME Scholarship Program for 2021-2022

 


Graduates of senior high school (SHS) and alternative learning system (ALS) can now apply for the 2nd batch of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education’s (MBHTE) Access to Higher and Modern Education – Scholarship Program for S.Y. 2021-2022.


What is the AHME Scholarship Program?


The Access to Higher and Modern Education - Scholarship Program (AHME-SP) also known as the "Bangsamoro IQ Scholar" is a flagship scholarship program of the Bangsamoro Government implemented by the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE).

It is a program that complements existing higher education scholarship, subsidy, loan, and similar programs implemented in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) for qualified senior high school and ALS graduates in the region and gives priority to qualified combatants, their children, orphans, or surviving spouses in line with post-conflict rehabilitation and development efforts of the Bangsamoro Government. 



Qualifications


These are the minimum qualifications:
  • BARMM resident
  • SHS or ALS graduate in the last school year or earlier
  • a freshman or an incoming freshman for the first semester/term of the current school year.

Documentary Requirements


The following are the documentary requirements in applying for the AHME-SP:

Citizenship Document:

  • Certified true copy of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Birth Certificate
  • 2x2 ID Picture with nametag / signature

Academic Documents:


  • Form 138 for senior high school graduates
  • ALS Accreditation and Equivalency Test Passer Certificate for Alternative Learning System (ALS) graduates

Financial Documents:

  • Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) of parents or guardian
  • Certificate of Tax Exemption from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)
  • Certificate of Indigence either from his/her barangay or Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) / MSSD
  • Case Study report from DSWD / MSSD
  • Latest copy of contract or proof of income (for children of Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) and seafearers)

Documents for Underprivileged, Disadvantaged, Marginalized, Poor and Low-income Sector or Group:

  • Single Parent ID from the Municipal or City Social Welfare and Development Office
  • IP Certificate parent/s from the Ministry of Indigenous People’s Affairs (MIPA)-BARMM
  • Person with Disability (PWD) ID from the Municipal or City Social Welfare and Development Office
  • Senior Citizen ID of Parent/s or Guardian from the Municipal or City Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA)
  • Certification of Death of Parents or Certification of Being an Orphan from the Barangay or Municipality/City
  • IDP Certification from the Barangay or Municipality/City or Province

For the Combatants, Their Children, Orphans, or Surviving Spouses:

  • Certification from the MILF and MNLF Peace Mechanisms that the applicant is a former combatant or a child of a combatant
  • Certification from MILF and MNLF Peace Mechanisms that the applicant is an orphan, his/her parent is a widow/widower due to the armed conflict, or is a surviving spouse


Period of Application


The ministry announced that the application period will run for a month starting August 2 until September 2, 2021

The application can be done through the following modalities:


1. WALK-IN Application: Submit the application form together with documentary requirements at the MBHTE-Higher Education Office, MBHTE-Higher Education, Bangsamoro Government Center, Governor Gutierrez Avenue Cotabato City 9600, Philippines

2. Online Application: Application can be done online through the AHME Portal: https://ahme-mbhte.bangsamoro.gov.ph/ or https://ahme-mbhte.bangsamoro.gov.ph/registration

3. Courier: Send your application form together with documentary requirements through your trusted courier services.
