General qualifications for appointment to Jail Officer 1


No person shall be appointed as uniformed personnel of the BJMP unless he/she possesses the following minimum qualifications:
  • A Citizen of the Republic of the Philippines;
  • A person of good moral character;
  • Must have passed the neuro-psychiatric evaluation, medical examination and drug test for the purpose of determining his/her physical and mental health;
  • Must possess a baccalaureate degree from a recognized institution of learning;
  • Must possess the appropriate Second Level Eligibility; 
  • Must not have been dishonorably discharged of dismissal for cause from previous employment;
  • Must not have been convicted by final judgement of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude;
  • Must not be less than twenty-one (21) nor more than thirty (30) years of age on the day of appointment; 
  • Must be at least one meter and sixty-two centimeters (1.62m) in height for male, and one meter and fifty-seven centimeters (1.57m) for female: provided that a waiver for height requirement shall be granted to applicants belonging to the cultural communities;
  • Must weigh not more or less than five kilograms (5kgs) from the standard weight corresponding to his/her height, age and sex;
  • Must be physically and mentally fit for rigid training.




Documentary Requirements


Applicants must submit the following pertinent documents placed in a folder properly TABBED and LABELLED:

 
A. HANDWRITTEN Personal Data Sheet (PDS) duly accomplished

B. Photocopy of Transcript of Records 
 
C. Photocopy of College Diploma
 
D. Photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by PSA (bring original)

E. Photocopy of Certificate of Eligibility or Board Rating & PRC ID

F. Photocopies of Valid Clearances from Permanent and Residential Address (NBI, Police, Barangay, MTC, RTC and Prosecutor's), bring the Original Copies of your Valid Clearances, 4R Picture

G. Photocopy of Valid Community Tax Certificate

H. Photocopies of certificate/s of previous and present employment (if applicable)

I. Photocopies of certificate/s of Seminars/Trainings completed (if any)

J. Photocopy of Marriage Certificate (if married)

K. Photocopy of Certificate of Confirmation from NCIP/NCMF (if needed)

***Four (4) Pieces passport size picture with name tag
 
 

Additional Requirements

 
Contents of BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION:
  • Three (3) COMPUTERIZED Duly Accomplished Personal Data Sheet (PDS)
  •  Three (3) House Sketch of Permanent and Residential Address with LANDMARKS
  • Photocopies of Valid Clearances from Permanent and Residential Address (NBI, Police, Barangay, MTC, RTC and Prosecutor's) bring the original copies of your valid clearances
  • 4R Picture
 
NOTE: For the Pertinent Documents, use ordinary white folder with plastic cover and tab its content properly. For the Background Investigation, staple the documents and place it inside the folder of the Pertinent Documents.

Salary


Jail Officer 1 will receive a  basic monthly salary of P29,668 upon oathtaking. A gross monthly salary of P37,488 will be received including the monthly salary and allowances.
 

Entry Level Examination


Criminologist applicants are exempted to take the EnLEx. (Pursuant to Section 34 and 35, Article V of RA 11131 re: Privileges of Registered Criminologists.)



Coverage of Entry Level Examination (EnLEx)


  • General Information – 20%
  • Mathematics – 20%
  • Basic English and Grammar – 30%
  • Sentence Arrangement and Paragraph Completion – 20%
  • Essay – 10%
