Below are the minimum qualifications as well as the documentary requirements for submission to the BuCor National Headquarters' Human Resource Division or any Human Resource Units of BuCor's six (6) Operating Prison and Penal Farms, namely:
  1. Correctional Institution for Women (Mandaluyong City)
  2. Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro)
  3. Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (Puerto Princesa, Palawan)
  4. Leyte Regional Prison (Abuyog, Leyte)
  5. Davao Prison and Penal Farm (Panabo City, Davao del Norte)
  6. San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (Zamboanga City)


General qualifications for appointment to Corrections Officer 1


No person shall be appointed as uniformed personnel of the BuCor unless he/she possesses the following minimum qualifications:
  • A Citizen of the Republic of the Philippines;
  • A Person of good moral character;
  • Must possess a baccalaureate degree from a recognized learning institution;
  • Must possess the appropriate civil service eligibility
  • Must not have been dishonorably discharged of dismissal for cause from previous employment
  • Must not have been convicted by final judgement of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude
  • *Must not be less than twenty-one (21) nor more than forty (40) years of age; and
  • Must be at least one meter and sixty-two centimeters (1.62) m. in height for male, and one meter and fifty-seven centimeters (1.57) m. for female: provided, that a waiver issued by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) for height  and age requirement/s is granted to applicants belonging to the cultural communities.
* The age limit as per R. A. 10575 or "The Bureau of Corrections Act of 2013" is forty (40) years old, however, those above thirty-six (36) years of age will have to sign a waiver agreeing that they may not be able to qualify for the full retirement benefits afforded to a uniformed officer of BuCor.

b. Five (5) Original Notarized Original Copies of Duly Accomplished CSC Form 212 Revised 2017 - Personal Data Sheet (PDS). Refer to the guide to filling out the PDS.
c. Two (2) Copies of Authenticated Certification of Eligibility (CSC, PRC) and its Official Receipt
d. Authenticated Copy of Transcript of Records and Authenticated Certification from the School or CHED
e. Original PSA Birth Certificate (Official Receipt to be presented)
f. Original PSA Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
g. Original PSA Birth Certificate of Children (if applicable)
h. One (1) Valid Original NBI Clearance
i.  One (1) Valid PNP Directorate for Intelligence (DI) Clearance (From Camp Crame)


2. Folder for BuCor IID

a. Duly / Properly Accomplished Personal Data Sheet (PDS) must be notarized. (Please refer to the guide to filling out the Personal Data Sheet)
b. Original copies of clearances from the following agencies:
  1. One (1) NBI Clearance
  2. One (1) PNP Directorate for Intelligence (DI) Clearance
  3. One (1) Local Police Clearance
  4. One (1) Barangay Clearance
  5. One (1) RTC, MTC, Prosecution Clearances
c. PSA Birth Certificate*
d. PSA Marriage Certificate (if married)*
e. Education Certificates*
f. Certificate of Employment (if previously employed)*
g. Passport (if any)*
h. Notarized waiver/authority to allow this agency to undergo B.I.
i. Sketch of house/residence from landmarks
j. Two (pieces) of latest colored 2x2 pictures (Not Photoshopped)

*Requirements c. to g. may be submitted as photocopies.


3. Folder for the Selection Board

a. Twelve (12) Photocopies of the original Personal Data Sheet (PDS)


4. Folder for the Attestation

a. Notarized and Duly Accomplished CSC Form 212 Revised 2017
b. Authenticated Certification of Eligibility (CSC, PRC)

Note: Only folders 1. and 2. are to be initially submitted for the pooling, folders 3. and 4. are to be submitted at a later announced date, subsequent to the results of the Agility Examinations.

Salary


Corrections Officer 1 will receive a  basic monthly salary of P29,668 upon oathtaking.





Written Qualifying Examinations


Pursuant to Section 34 RA 11131 or "The Philippine Criminology Profession Act of 2018", Registered Criminologist are exempted from taking the Written Qualifying Examinations (WQE) and will immediately be scheduled for the Neuro-Psychiatric Examinations.

Criminology graduates holding eligibilities such as the CSC Professional Eligibility as well as applicants from other disciplines will have to take the WQE as the initial screening step of the recruitment process.

Applicants may submit their requirements placed in a folder properly TABBED and LABELLED to the BuCor NHQs Human Resource Division or any of its Human Resource Units in the six Operating Prison and Penal Farms (Subject to guidelines of the concerned LGU).

Applicants may also submit their scanned documents thru email at bucor2021recruitment@gmail.com . Applicants who submit scanned documents thru email will have to present them once they are scheduled for any of the qualifying steps.



Reminders:

If the applicant does not meet the height requirement, a waiver issued by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) MUST BE ATTACHED in the Folder 1 for submission. Without this, applicants will not be qualified for the Uniformed Personnel positions.

Also included is the waiver form to be filled out, signed, and notarized for inclusion in the Folder 2.) for submission.

Please be reminded that the Corrections Officer I position is a UNIFORMED PERSONNEL position in a Uniformed National Government Agency. As such, a measure of discipline and decorum shall be expected from the applicants.
