General qualifications for appointment to Corrections Officer 1
No person shall be appointed as uniformed personnel of the BuCor unless he/she possesses the following minimum qualifications:
- A Citizen of the Republic of the Philippines;
- A Person of good moral character;
- Must have passed the psychiatric/psychological, drug and physical test for the purpose of determining his/her physical and mental health;
- Must possess a baccalaureate degree from a recognized learning institution;
- Must possess the appropriate civil service eligibility;
- Must not have been dishonorably discharged of dismissal for cause from previous employment;
- Must not have been convicted by final judgement of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude; and
- Must be at least one meter and fifty-seven centimeters (1.57) m. in height for male, and one meter and fifty-two centimeters (1.52) m. for female: provided, that a waiver for height and age requirement/s may be granted to applicants belonging to the cultural communities
* The age limit for applicants for Corrections Officer I as per R. A. 10575 or "The Bureau of Corrections Act of 2013" is forty (40) years old. However, those above thirty-six (36) years of age will have to sign a waiver agreeing that they may not be able to qualify for the full retirement benefits afforded to a Uniformed Officer of BuCor.

2. PAG-IBIG Number
3. Philhealth Number
Documentary Requirements
Corrections Officer Applicants: Long White Folder, Corrections Technical Officer Applicants: Long Brown Folder, Non-Uniformed Personnel Applicants: Long Yellow Folder
1. Folder 1 (Tabbed):
a. Letter of Intentb. Three (3) duly accomplished and notarized original copies of the Personal Data Sheet (PDS, CSC Form 212) with attached Work Experience Sheetc. Two (2) Authenticated Certificates of Eligibility with Original Receipt (OR)*For PRC eligibilities, Certificate of Board Rating must be submittedd. One (1) authenticated copy of Transcript of Records (TOR)
e. One (1) authenticated copy of School Certification/Diplomaf. One (1) original PSA Birth Certificate with ORg. One (1) original PSA Marriage Certificate (if applicable)h. One (1) original PSA Birth Certificate of Child with OR (if applicable)
i. One (1) original copy of valid NBI Clearancej. One (1) original copy of valid Local Police Clearancek. Two (2) latest IPCR ratings for fromer/active government employeesl. NCIP or NCMF certification for applicants who do not meet the height requirement
2. Folder 2 (Tabbed)
a. One (1) duly accomplished Personal Data Sheet (PDS, CSC Form 212)b. One (1) original copy of valid NBI Clearancec. One (1) valid PNP D.I. Clearance
d. One (1) Photocopy of Local Police Clearancee. One (1) original Barangay Clearance
f. One (1) original RTC, MTC & Prosecution Clearance
g. One (1) PSA Birth Certificate
h. One (1) original PSA Marriage Certificate (if applicable)i. One (1) authenticated copy of Certification/Diploma
j. Original Certificate of Employmentk. Passport (if any)
l. Original & Notarized waiver to undergo B.I.
m. Sketch of house/residence from landmarks
n. 2 pcs. of latest 2x2 pictures
NOTE: Directorate for Intelligence Clearance is no longer required upon submission of your pertinent documents (Folder 2, tabbed C).
Applicant Updating Stub
Provide two (2) copies of this Stub for:
(1) to be attached in front of the FOLDER 1 and(1) for personal copy to which applicants must carry throughout recruitment processes and will be signed by the Recruitment personnel only.Paper size : 74 x 210 mm
